A reponse to LaVerne's wish for stories

My mother did not go out and play games with me or tell funny stories, but she laughed at a funny story. She could see humor in things that I said and did. She could also wrap me up along side the head if the occasion called for it.

I could also see humor in many things she did.

For Example:
Late in my mothers life she had eye surgery for cateracts. As a result, she had some glasses she was supposed to wear for a number of weeks aftyer surgery.
She hated to wear them and one day we asked her if she had been wearing her glasses.  She said "Yes, every afternoon - when I take my nap!"

Actually it was my sister Blanche who kept bugging her to wear the glasses and she was getting sick of hearing about it.
