    Linn is the only child of Ethel G. BARNETT, LICKLEY, and Linn E. Sheckler. They both
    had children by previous marriages.

    Linn Sheckler Jr. Radioman USN
    served  aboard her during WWII
    from
    July 1944 through March 1946
    Linn visited his brother, Merril, in the Army Airforce on Ohau, when in port.   Linn has told us that once, around the Philippines, the Japanese fired a.torpedo at the Adair from the beach and it went right under the Adair and came up to hit a ship on the opposite side.

    He had duty on the beach sometimes for ship to shore communications, one time a pile of ammunition blew up near his post.
    ..
    He was able to be home a short time in April/May of 1945.
    ..
     After Linn left the Navy he bacame a sales-person.
    He was the grocers contact for the Kelloggs Company for
    Western Michigan for many years.  New products were
    introduced through him and each stores' displays had to
    be kept up to date. His nephew LaVerne remembers riding
    with him to several stores in the Montague area.
    HE WAS AN EASY SOURCE FOR SAMPLES
    He later transfered to Northern Michigan and moved to
    Traverse City where he and Gerry have now Retired.
